Each year emergency days are built into the school calendar for use when bad weather forces a school cancellation.  This year, we used three of the four allotted emergency days; therefore, the remaining one emergency day will be added to the Memorial Day weekend.  As indicated on the school calendar, in addition to schools being closed Memorial Day, Monday May 29, 2017, schools will also be closed on Friday, May 26, 2017.

Middle School PARCC Testing Dates
Middle School PARCC Schedule 2017
This year, as a result of a great influx of technology, we have been able to minimize the total days of impact due to PARCC from eighteen to ten.  Each grade will be testing a total of five days, testing Language Arts then Math.  To shorten the number of impacted days two changes were made.  First, on some days students will be testing in both the morning and afternoon.  Second, 6th and 8th grade will be testing at the same time.  (For further details about scheduling see below.)  In addition this year, since Wayne was selected by the state for field test participation, each student will take one additional section of ELA.  There will be no testing on April 27th for Take Your Child To Work Day.
